The Browser-Based Image Viewer
The first change you'll notice is the name. Microsoft has eliminated support for the Netscape plug-in architecture in their Internet Explorer product. The name has been changed from Prizm Plug-in for Windows to Prizm Viewer.
The underlying structure has been updated in this latest release of Prizm Viewer, making it more flexible when used in secure environments, especially with proxy servers. The architecture is in place to offer the higher level of security and encryption healthcare, legal, and engineering drawing customers have requested. |

Adobe’s PDF Technology Support |

Browser-Based Viewer Detection
To make upgrades easier, especially in a fluid environment, Prizm Viewer 7 now offers a set of sample HTML pages. Users without the most up-to-date version of the Prizm Viewer may be redirected to another page that allows the end user to install the current version of the viewer.
On-the-Fly Configuration |
The Prizm Viewer now offers options that allow you to configure viewer features. Used in embed tags, object tags and Image List Files these options allow you to enable and disable Save As; Export; Copy to Clipboard; Print; Annotation Viewing, Creation and Saving; Image Information and Caching.
Toolbar Configuration
Based on your needs, you can customize the toolbar using embed tags, object tags and Image List Files, based on the needs of your users. This means that one version of the Prizm Viewer can serve different departments with differing web-based viewing needs.

Security Options
American federal requirements such as HIPAA and Gramm-Leach-Bliley have prompted companies to provide new levels of security in imaging systems. Secure Server & Authenticated Server options allow access to image files over servers requiring passwords and servers using cookies.
